Miata and I had the pleasure of teaching a 3-hour event this past Saturday in North Hollywood to a lively and dedicated group of artists. What an extraordinary day.
She and I love teaching together. It’s a rare occurrence these days with our schedules. The Boot Camps and Elite Programs we offer (another begins with me in just two weeks!) are occasionally tag-teamed, but often we’re flying solo with our students. And of course, when we’re not teaching, we’re creating art in the professional world: I’m currently directing and acting in a gorgeous play, Miata is constantly filming. Even with our business partnership, it’s often impossible to get us together the phone, let alone in the same room, let alone teaching together.
So to combine our energies and share the Artist’s Prosperity System and our unique perspectives on money, creativity and the artist’s experience with our community, well, simply put: it’s an inspiration to me. The energy that is created at our live events is damn exciting. Funny, moving, practical. Every time I teach the student in me learns. And when Miata, the goddess of it all teaches? Well, the student in me is schooled.
Most significantly, to teach live is to witness the aha! moments of our students firsthand, to marvel as the resistance to money and its difficulties wears away, to watch a fellow artist open up to new possibilities, become excited and leave empowered with the practical tools that can actually, tangibly, affect real change in her life. Now that’s some pretty damn awesome power to be surrounded by.
We’re going to try put some clips of the day up online soon. In the meantime, what inspires you? Money related, non-money related, what’s going to make you tick in 2010? What keeps you rooted to your plans, day in and out, to create great work and take over the world?!
